David J. Krull, M.D.

Dr. Krull was born in Kendallville, Indiana. He attended Indiana University where he received his bachelor's degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1970. His postgraduate internship and residency were completed at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio from 1970-1973. After his residency was completed, Dr. Krull came to Palmetto and founded the North River Family Health Center in 1973.

Raymond L. Raitz, M.D.

Dr. Raitz was born in Tiffin, Ohio and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, earning his bachelor's degree in science. He went on to attend Ohio State University College of Medicine where he received his medical degree in 1973. His postgraduate internship and residency were completed at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio from 1973-1976. Dr. Raitz came to Palmetto and began practicing at North River Family Health Center in 1976 and is currently the president of the practice. He served as Manatee Memorial Hospital's Cheif of Staff in 1988 and he also proudly serves as the physician for the North River Fire District.

James A. Briles, M.D.

Dr. Briles was born in Corning, Iowa. He attended Northwest Missouri State University from 1970-1971. He then transferred to Grinnell College in Grinnell. Iowa, where he earned his bachelor's degree in psychology in 1975. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Briles completed his internship and residency at Mercy/St. Luke's Hospital from 1980-1983. Dr. Briles joined the North River Family Health Center in June, 1984.

Kevin P. Lipscomb, M.D.

Dr. Lipscomb is a Florida native born in Pinellas County. He became a certified surgical technician in 1983 at St. Petersburg Junior College. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology at the University of South Florida in 1988 and attended the South Florida College of Medicine earning his medical degree in 1994. Dr. Lipscomb completed his internship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1995. His residency program was completed at Northeast Iowa Family Practice Residency Program in 1998. Dr. Lipscomb has been in practice at North River Family Health Center since April, 1998.

Anthony R. Hemmer, M.D.

Dr. Hemmer was born in Cincinnati, OH. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Kentucky in 1992. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1996. Dr. Hemmer's family practice internship and residency were completed at the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation in1999. He practiced family medicine in Waterloo, IA from 1999 to 2001. Dr. Hemmer began treating treating patients at North River Family Health Center in July of 2002. Dr. Hemmer proudly serves as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team and their families.

Daniel J. Johnson, M.D.

Dr. Johnson is the newest physician to join North River Family Health Center. Dr. Johnson was born in Elgin, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana, earning his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree in 1986 from the University of Illinois in Chicago. His internship and residency were completed at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois from 1986-1989. Dr. Johnson practiced family medicine in Cedar Falls, Iowa from 1989-2002 and in Green Bay, Wisconsin from 2002-2007. Dr. Johnson joined North River Family Health Center in July 2007.

Kathleen A. Greenfield, PA-C

Kathleen Greenfield is from Boston, Massachusetts where she attended Boston College and earned her bachelor's degree in philosophy and biology in 1983. She then attended Duke University in North Carolina where she earned her physician assistant's degree in 1986. She has been treating patients at the Family Health Center since January 1995.

Courtney A. McLaughlin, PA-C

Courtney McLaughlin was born in Chicago, IL; however, she moved to Ocala, FL as an infant and grew up there. Courtney attended the University of Florida where she earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology and cell science in 2003 and her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies degree in 2005. Courtney has been treating patients in Sarasota and Manatee Counties since the fall of 2005 and has been caring for patients at North River Family Health Center since October 2006.
